Boarding
Rockin’ N Stables is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Bradford County, Pennsylvania. We are located minutes from route 220 in Athens, which allows for easy access with trailers. Only minutes from state game lands allows for scenic trail riding. We are a 32 stall full boarding facility. Grain, hay, stall care, shavings, turn out (weather permitting), access to water, 2 indoor arenas, 2 round pen areas, a shower bay, and a friendly low key environment are included in board. We have a trainer on site, who can easily help you solve any horse issues and is more than willing to offer his training experience. Join our family as we often trail ride, have summer picnics, and fall bon fires.
Boarding price : $450 a month
Lessons
We give lessons to people of all ages. Our youngest student is 3 and our oldest is 65. Teaching good horsemanship is our priority. We teach to educate our students on loving the horses as well as the sport. We offer hands on instruction, teaching everything from saddling your own horse, stall cleaning, feeding and wound care. Many lessons given, are often life lessons. These lessons are taught by the horses themselves, as they mirror us.
$65 an hour for one on one lessons
$45 an hour for a 30 minute advanced individual lesson with 30 minute of divided time.
We offer lessons Monday through Friday from 1pm until 5pm, and some Saturdays 9am to noon.
Training
Monte and I both enjoy training horses on our farm.
Monte came to Pennsylvania from Utah in 2001. Monte grew up roping and riding out west. Monte has started many young horses. He uses natural horsemanship methods and has a motto of firm, fair, and friendly. He specializes in problem solving, trailer issues and much more.
I bought my first horse at 30 and never looked back. I started barrel racing with a mare I trained. As our farms needs changed, I became more interested in Western Dressage. Taking lessons from a world class trainer allows me to continually improve my knowledge. I enjoy teaching a horse to carry itself, balance and suppleness. I believe in being light and allowing the horses an opportunity to listen to my aides.
Our programs are based on the needs of each horse; some horses may need more or less time to learn a task. We encourage our clients to come and observe. Learning how we are asking your horse is important to continued progress after the horse is taken home.
Training fees are $900 a month
